About Me

I was born and raised in Mongolia, or Outer
Mongolia, as some people refer to it. I
moved to the United States in 1997 when I
started my undergraduate degree. Currently
I'm a graduate student, and living in
Urbana, IL, hopefully not for much
longer :-)

It's not the cold winters, for Illinois
winters are mild compared to very
long Mongolian winters with average
temperatures of -13--22F (-25--30C).
It's the flatness and gloominess. Mongolia
is one of the highest countries in the world,
with average altitude of 1,580 meters above sea
level. It's also a remarkably sunny country, enjoying 250 sunny days a year, often with clear cloudless skies.
